Santacruz Railway Station

The Santacruz station has the worst foot overbridge steps I have ever seen. Why can the steps not be as good as other local railway stations such as Vile Parle? Also the pedestrian overbridge from the station to the Western Express Highway does not have a single exit point in the middle. IF a person needs emergency evacuation in the centre of the bridge, it will be extremely difficult to provide medical help quickly. Extremely irresponsible design and execution.

I too agree with all of you. I see average of 4-5 people falling every day. It is too slippery and the steps are also not proportionate. I also see the need of elevators for the handicap and the Old citizens. too difficult to climb and get down...

The points mentioned above are correct. Also the skywalks on both the East and west side needs to be attended as in many paces broken tiles can be seen. Lighting has to be improved as lights do not work in some areas/ Many urchins and hawkers occupy some of these areas for sleeping and dirty the place

TRAINS COMING FROM MANGALORE SIDE INVARIABLY ARRIVE ONLY ON PLAT FORM NO.3. TO GO TO PLAT FORM NO.3 FROM THE STATION MAIN ENTRANCE IS A HERCULEAN TASK ESPECIALLY FOR THE ELDERLY AND DIFFABLED PASSENGERS. THERE ARE A HUGE FLIGHT OF STEPS WHICH HAVE TO BE CROSSED BEFORE REACHING THE PLATFORM. EVEN IF YOU TRY TO USE THE BACK ENTRANCE OF THE STATION TO GO TO PLAT FORM NO.3 THE TASK IS EVEN MORE DIFFICULT SINCE THERE ARE NO PORTERS. IT IS A TOUGH TASK FOR THE ELDERLY AND LADIES TO CLIMB THE STAIRS AND REACH THE PLATFORM WITH THE HEAVY LUGGAGE IN HAND. HENCE THE RAILWAYS SHOULD IMMEDIATELY INTRODUCE ESCALATORS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PASSENGERS. THEY SHOULD ALSO ENSURE THAT THE ESCALATORS ARE IN WORKING CONDITION.
