In November last year, using my son's account, I had ordered a laptop for my nephew from Snapdeal, with an guaranteed 2-day delivery under a special sale.. When it was time for delivery, the courier and Snapdeal kept lying, kept saying the courier had tried to deliver but had found no one at my home. That excuse, repeated three times, was a blatant lie, because both my brother and I work from home and there is always someone at home, 24hours aday,no exceptions unless the whole (joint) family is out of town. We were NOT out of town then. Our daily reminders to Snapdeal received the usual empty assurances and then unexpectedly Snapdeal told us the order was cancelled, because the laptop had been returned by the courier after three delivery attempts had failed!
In retrospect, I analyze the situation this way: Snapdeal had made a special sale promise it could not keep. There was no laptop available at that price, under those delivery terms. Snapdeal's initial offer was a scam. When I made the order, Snapdeal colluded with the couriers to make an elaborate pretense of trying to delivery the laptop and failing. That of course gave Snapdeal the excuse it needed to cancel the order.Thankfully, our primary payment for the lap was refunded fast, though the extended warranty payment came back only after repeated reminders.
