SDMC Vasant Vihar - there are private garbage collectors still operating for a fee in every block. The garbage collectors are segregating on site at the trash point but they spread the garbage on the floor stinking up the whole area. Its pollution of the worst kind especially in monsoon season. As it is, Vasant Vihar is on the flight path and adjacent to a bottleneck on the ring road, this is additional pollution which impacts health. Is there no regional segregation centre? I segregate my garbage before disposal but whats the use if they mix it all up for segregating at point of collection? I use green colored garbage bags for kitchen vegetable and food waste. Blue colour for paper and other decomposable materials like paper and cardboard. Yellow or black colour for plastics.

collection is fine as RWA has the system managing waste collection, but absolutely no segregation. It is easy to educate people and manage to collect segregated waste collection system through RWAs. No strict action for residents as well as waste collectors.

We have never seen any systematic garbage collection by MCD around our place in our colony. We have been disposing of the garbage through private service garbage collection persons.

SDMC work force has never been found at our location/street. The elected corporator never found time to visit our street despite of personal requests that too when he is living just 200 metres away from our house.
