No improvement at all................................get a feeling, as if we are not living in the capital of INDIA! Looking around in Delhi, we can very well imagine what it will be like in smaller towns 2-3 tier cities. Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan indeed has a long way to go. A good initiative by the PM Modi is being wasted by one & all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BIG talk with no result.........new BJP counsellors haven't done much until now let's see if they deliver on their TALL promises made during Municipal Elections. Solid Waste Management and Handling in DELHI is pathetic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Years of bad management, corruption and unaccountability have led to our cities looking like slums with no proper waste management; no involvement of citizens to segregate waste; and dumps that are a source of horrifying pollution.
I have been to several cities around the world and none of them have the problems we have, such as thousands of un-regularized colonies where buildings are shoddy and dangerously built and often collapse. The crises at hand is waste management and landfills that Indian cities are literally running out of. None of this requires any great innovations. Cities all over the world are segregating waste and using very sensible solutions to dispose of it. Wet waste can be turned into biomass to produce electricity; building debris can be crushed and recycled; plastic waste can also be reused if we have the right plants and encourage private/public partnerships. There is a lot of money to be made from garbage: from recycling to producing electricity, but Indian municipalities don’t think out of the box because then they would not be paid off by trucking mafias etc.
Let reputed private companies take over the waste management of our cities; someone well known like Tata’s who run Jamshedpur. Privatize and let us pay for good service—it is better than paying for no service
Without the Municipal Corporations there will be no corruption; no vote bank politics and most of all we will finally make a giant step towards our Prime Minister’s dream of a Swachh Bharat.
