i wanted to switch loan from HDFC to SBI. on 1st Oct they SMSed that they have sent my loan application. now one SBI person is asking " how to visit your house...which way it is, how far from there" Another person called up from Kilpauk that "you have to show the original document, no no no noh, you have to come here, yes yes you can send a person with those document"
Not that I am retired from SBI I observe generally the service in majority of branches has improved and the customer complaints are not much compared to the volume. The staff at counters are good but the problem is number of customers that attend the Bank. With computerisation the number of customers is to a large extent reduced. On line transaction have increased beyond any ones imagination. The very fact how successfully SBI brnaches handled.and still handling the demonitization is much appreacible and general public are happy to a large extent.
There are instances where even RBI guidelines are overlooked by SBI like , intersol /inter branch charges when cash deposits are made in non base branches. Despite the apparent improvements in a few areas ,it continues with the highest number of customer complaints and average number of complaints per branch as seen in its Annual report itself. Based on this objective tool It earns a very poor rating.

Armed Guards in the main gate extend a warm welcome with smile and answer to any queries by the visiting customers. Enquiry counter is manned by a physically challenged person, who is helpful to all. Courteous service extended by all the staff members to all customers. Kudos to all working staff.

The ATM / CDM in this branch has probably been 'Out of Order' for major part of the year. Any no. of complaints to the Chief Manager & the Authorities have not elicited any response .

In Bihar Sharif, there are 4 SBI branches. In none of them, GREEN CHANNEL works properly. Most of the days it remains fail. Even the day it works, you need to swipe twice or thrice or wait for luck. In the three banks, each have two Green Channel machine but they say only one may work, other is permanently non-functioning. And on that one you have to attempt your luck. Out of 20 to 25 tries, I've got only one day when it was working without any problem.
Very poor service and regard for customer. Even money in account in not safe. A forged cheque was encashed from my 80 year old mothers account and inspite of repeated efforts the Bank refused to act and reimburse her money ! And she has been a customer for nearly 30 years with the Bank.
