No convenient facility to reset transaction password online. Long procedure to file paper application, get signed from branch manager and what not just to request transaction password reset. Though I visit my home branch less than 4 times a year just to get bank statement for Visa purposes. Their server is down most of the times. If everything is in order, the quality of print-out is poorer than dot-matrix. I have to literally take print out from my home and get it attested by them.
Their staff look & talk like clerks (no offense meant), but are extremely capable, knowledgeable, and empowered to do their jobs. Way better than ICICI & Axis Bank

May not appear 5 star like private banks, but provide sensible & complete service.
State Bank of India seems to function purely as a network of money lenders. Transferring my account from one branch to another resulted in huge variation in services, charges and behavior.
i wanted to switch loan from HDFC to SBI. on 1st Oct they SMSed that they have sent my loan application. now one SBI person is asking " how to visit your house...which way it is, how far from there" Another person called up from Kilpauk that "you have to show the original document, no no no noh, you have to come here, yes yes you can send a person with those document"
The ATM / CDM in this branch has probably been 'Out of Order' for major part of the year. Any no. of complaints to the Chief Manager & the Authorities have not elicited any response .

In spite of complaining number of times including to its various senior officers about providing clear and transparent Statement of Accounts of FDRs since 2013, they are not taking any action. There are lot of discrepancies in statements of A/c and many more irregularities in keeping the Accounts.

In Bihar Sharif, there are 4 SBI branches. In none of them, GREEN CHANNEL works properly. Most of the days it remains fail. Even the day it works, you need to swipe twice or thrice or wait for luck. In the three banks, each have two Green Channel machine but they say only one may work, other is permanently non-functioning. And on that one you have to attempt your luck. Out of 20 to 25 tries, I've got only one day when it was working without any problem.
Very poor service and regard for customer. Even money in account in not safe. A forged cheque was encashed from my 80 year old mothers account and inspite of repeated efforts the Bank refused to act and reimburse her money ! And she has been a customer for nearly 30 years with the Bank.
