ATMs are crowded and dysfunctional often. They are coming to the speed. But bureaucratic procedures make it cumbersome to visit the branch. The branch in R T Nagar is over crowded due to huge clientele. They have all facilities like net banking, other services which are good. Staff is okay but gets bogged down with long procedures.

The govt. tendency is not over ridden yet for professional services. There is bureaucratic and hierarchical structure for any non routine problems for interaction. Branch Managers are not yet fully authorized for many services, ATMs many times are not working or have no money. Rather than reporting total balance in self recurring deposits and breaking after any transaction, the bank intimate amount after making or breaking deposits. The repair and maintenance of ATMs and any It problems in not much in their command. The monthly credit card statements are not received at all or received very late. The courier service for this service is of third class and the courier boys simply drop the letters even without taking receipts. Once defaulted in payments of credit card the service charges, interest and other levies are very high and the call center normally do not wave these even in charges in exceptional/meritorious cases due to their bureaucratic and hierarchical structure even one department opposing other department mail written commitments as I have found in my case.

My salary account is in SBI, Gandhinagar main branch since 2002. Over the years I have experienced that the services of the bank has deteriorated from bad to worst. Moreover the bank has increased the service charges for all the facilities immensely compared to other nationalized bank. The passbook printing facility is hopeless as they have kept only two automatic printing machine in entire city making people stand in a long queue during day hours. All other branches refuses to print the pass book if the automatic machine is out of order due to any reason. Though the bank deduct highest SMS charges from the account compared to other nationalized bank we hardly receive SMS on transaction. Many bank has provided miss call from the registered mobile no. to know the balance but SBI's facility is proved 'very difficult' to get available balance. Moreover, whenever the interest rate decreases SBI remains first to reduce FD interest rates & the case is reversed when the interest rates rises. In short, SBI is a very costly bank to deal with. However, internet bank service is quite satisfactory to give this bank a single star.
i wanted to switch loan from HDFC to SBI. on 1st Oct they SMSed that they have sent my loan application. now one SBI person is asking " how to visit your house...which way it is, how far from there" Another person called up from Kilpauk that "you have to show the original document, no no no noh, you have to come here, yes yes you can send a person with those document"
The ATM / CDM in this branch has probably been 'Out of Order' for major part of the year. Any no. of complaints to the Chief Manager & the Authorities have not elicited any response .

In spite of complaining number of times including to its various senior officers about providing clear and transparent Statement of Accounts of FDRs since 2013, they are not taking any action. There are lot of discrepancies in statements of A/c and many more irregularities in keeping the Accounts.

In Bihar Sharif, there are 4 SBI branches. In none of them, GREEN CHANNEL works properly. Most of the days it remains fail. Even the day it works, you need to swipe twice or thrice or wait for luck. In the three banks, each have two Green Channel machine but they say only one may work, other is permanently non-functioning. And on that one you have to attempt your luck. Out of 20 to 25 tries, I've got only one day when it was working without any problem.
Very poor service and regard for customer. Even money in account in not safe. A forged cheque was encashed from my 80 year old mothers account and inspite of repeated efforts the Bank refused to act and reimburse her money ! And she has been a customer for nearly 30 years with the Bank.
