I am sure readers may not believe what I had experienced yesterday (24/10/2015). In my residential building one of the five reading meters was found to be not working while the EB reader came on 23/10/2015 to record the values. He also mentioned in the card as "MNR" meaning "Meter Not Reading". I was planning to visit EB office soon to lodge a formal request letter for the replacement in kind. But the EB staff came to our house on the directions of their higher ups and completed the replacement of the old meter with a digital one quickly on 24/10/2015 itself. The field staff themselves could not believe that they have been instructed to do this job at such a short notice. Such prompt action goes a long way to save issues for the consumer as well as to the EB itself. Keep it up!!!
THEY ARE THE MOST ARROGANT, INEFFICIENT, AUTOCRATIC, INDIFFERENT SET OF PEOPLE in the TN Govt Sector. They breed Corruption and have rarely shown any empathy towards the problems of the General Public. A vist to their EB Bill Payment counter could be a starting point. If you go to pay the periodic Bills - you will be standing in the most unhealthy atmosphere/ surroundings with perhaps One Ceiling fan trudging in a corner of the 40 x 40 Hall on a Sweaty, Sticky Summer noon of Chennai whereas the other side of the counters would most probably be having an Air Cooler facility, if not - an Air Conditioner ...!!!.. Whenever there is an unscheduled Power Outage and you phone up the local " fuse office " - You will always get a busy tone - since they would keep the receiver away from the Telephone
