train 12243 and 12244 are too slow(70 kph average). Many shatabdis around Delhi do 80-90 kph average. Mumbai-Ahmedabad shatabdi takes 6 hrs 20 mins in the forward direction while for the same distance 12243(Chennai-Coimbatore shatabdi) takes 6 hrs and 50 mins though this route is double track. Can't this train be speeded up to 85 kph average?
Frequent Vendors movement in the coaches is a big nuisance. Allowing standing passengers into the reserved coaches particularly in AC chaircar coaches must be prevented.
Chennai Egmore-Guruvayur Express.- I ofter travel in this train from Tambaram to Ariyalur with my family. Cleanline3ss of the train is very poor ande most of the fans are unserviceable in Second Sitting coaches and the lights ar3e on during the day time also.
While additional AC Coaches are required to be introduced, I am of the opinion that II AC & IIIAC coaches may be considered as the number of persons travelling in I AC coach will be very few & far between. Introduction of Talgo Train is a welcome feature, double tracking of the railway line has to be done on a priority to enable the Talgo train to cover the distance in a much lesser time. One other important aspect to be taken care of is the cleanliness of the coaches & the toilets in running besides their regular maintenance to avoid wastage of water by way of leakage due to broken pipes & taps. Upkeep & increased level of general maintenance of the coaches is of utmost importance before the introduction of additional coaches. This does not mean that additional coaches are not required. It is essential but more immediate & essential are the other items mentioned herein above.

Experience of such kind are mainly found in ALL the trains starting from the South bound for destinations in the North-East. We have to see the crowds assembled at Chennai Central Station for boarding the Raptisagar Express (from Trivandrum to Gorakhpur) arriving in Chennai around 11 PM (night). The only solution is for the Railways to introduce more trains on such high traffic routes which is a fall out of the migration of labour from North Eastern States to the Southern States due to the high incidence of Unemployment in those States. I think the Railways will have to undertake an in depth analysis of the causes & initiate swift action at the earliest to lessen the inconvenience caused to bonafide passengers with confirmed reservation.

It is absolutely pathetic to see the passengers travel in unreserved compartments in this bi weekly train.No place whatsoever even to ground the feet .It is distressing to see them being transported like cattle going for slaughter in Vans . At least the cattle have Ministers and M.P's to will listen to the voices and take cudgels to improve the facilities . The 2 stars naturally goes only to the Gaurd and the Engine drivers . Now this rating should open the eyes of the Administration where they stand and what they have to do . This was also posted on 7th .

Thiruvandapuram Guwahati Express 12507 / 125 08: [weekly train originating on Tuesday from Thiruvanadapuram ]

It was a night mare on the very first day of this year 2015 , when I boarded at Coimbatore on the very first day of the year at 01.30 A.M. The train came in time . My ticket was booked in Sleeper class[ well ahead ]confirmed so I was casually waiting for the compartment be boarded . But to my surprise the doors on both sides were locked from inside ; when I saw through some glass windows couldn’t see any moving place at all. I was a good 500 km away from my home . What to do at the wee hours ,being a 71 year old ?

Luckily the T.T.E came as a God and made the illegal occupants to open the door to let me [legitimate passenger ]in and occupy my birth which was occupied by 3 people . How do you like it ? There was no place to keep my measly baggage also . Managed and once the train left people started sitting near my head and legs . I had to tell the people near my head to move out ; didn’t feel like doing it to the people at my feet as they were women with children. Between the 2 lower births 2 people were sleeping on baggages . One had to be a gymnast to go to the toilet wading through the crowd all through . To make it to and fro took 20minutes. My Indian empathetic mind accepted as I could see so many families with women and small children. I wasn’t a member of “make railways better” then . Otherwise you would have taken some pictures of the situation and posted to you to see the position . There was no R.P.F. to regulate in a reserved compartment. Even if he was there he would have to to be a super gymnast . In my estimation that sleeper compartment which is meant for 72 passengers there would have been 225 passengers [153 illegitimate passengers ]

What is the explanation the railways has to give for the legitimate confirmed ticket holders ? Do we have to succumb to this which is purely manmade [that is railway staff ] ?
I have sent a resource post in detail on causes for overcrowding and also the solutions on 7th July . I will post it again when I get a chance some one interested so that they can add their inputs .
Will not anyone voice their concern on this issue pleas e so that the railway administration wakes up ?
The 2 stars are for the Driver, Gaurd and the T.T.E who let me in ! If Railway administration was sensitive the other 3 stars would have been contemplated .

The train is always late by 45 minutes to one hour. The train never reaches in time. Even brindavan Express, Double decker express and labagh express reaches in time . I do not understand the reason for charging higher fare when it never reaches with in the allotted 5 hours and reaches in 6 hours . Moreover, the platform no is changed from 1 to 2 at the bangalore cantonment station in the last minute on many occasions causing considerable hardship to passengers

I traveled by Amritsar Shatabdi on 4th February from New Delhi to Amritsar, Train No 12013, PNR No 2708404874, Coach No C - 14 Seat No 1. The Condition of the Coach was very bad, washrooms were very dirty and stinking, lock was missing in one of the toilet from inside. Staff was very courteous but standard of the food was not good.

I travelled by Jammu Rajdhani , Train No 12426, PNR Non2427331542 boarded the train at Pathankot Cantt Railway Station Coach B-4 Seat No 25. Condition of the coach was very poor. Toilets were stinking and dirty. There was no light in one of the Toilet & reported this matter to the TTE of the Coach but there was no action. Food was not up to the mark. I had given the option of Non-Veg food while booking the ticket through IRCTC but the attendant bluntly told me that Non - Veg is not available. Rjadhani Train once used to be a premium train with good quality of Food but food served on the particular day was not upto the standard.

FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PASSENGERS ALL COACHES BE IT FIRST AC, SECOND AC, OR SECOND CLASS RESERVED SHOULD HAVE DIGITAL INFORMATION OF THE NEXT REACHING STATION AND THE REMAINING STATIONS TO COME AND ALSO THE PRESENT RUNNING TIME AND IF THE TRAIN IS RUNNING LATE , BY HOW MANY MINUTES/HOURS.
