The Transport Department Haryana, established under section 213 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, implements the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. The vision of the department is to create conditions for a safe, efficient, economical, seamless and environment-friendly transport system for the mobility of people and goods within the State. The functions of the office of the Transport Commissioner include registration of motor vehicles, issue of driving licenses, grant of permits, checking of offences by motor vehicles and drivers,road safety etc.
