Varanasi Municipal Corporation

May be it is one of the most corrupt Corporation, along with all organization of the district including the collectorate, VDA, and what not to name. Garbage collection started some times back but covers only 5% of the population. A city supposed to provide facilities to about 5 lakh people now carries over 30 lakhs. No toilets, garbage cleaning may be called as garbage shifting. Shop keepers, Thela and Khomcha wale create huge garbage but the corporation employees only collect - hafta. One has to put enough weight on each and every paper to get your work done. Even facilities offered by the central govt. - like passport office, Income Tax Dept. are also very shoddy. People are always ready to cooperate but the corporation is not coming forward. You enter any temple and you will find rotten flowers, leafs, and all that is offered to the God/Goddess lying around. Temple administration does not take any responsibility for their suitable disposal. Less said the better. Nows a days beautification drive has been taken by the central govt. - like underground wiring etc. One wonders who are the planners. All consumers are being provided with the same rating of connection that was being availed currently. Eg. A consumer who has 1 -3 KVA load sanctioned is being provided a 3 KVA wiring. No one has thought of future requirement. They will dig again the same road and the consumer will be asked to run from pillar to post. It is Varanasi - the so called oldest living city. The corporation will not allow its citizens to reform.
