I think comments have no value for the Govt. and its indifferent administration. To my knowledge there is no plan for getting rid of monkeys and other stray animals. I have been sufferer of monkey menace in Varanasi - PM Modi's constituency and an aspirant of becoming a smart city. I once had to get vaccinated for Rabies virus. Monkeys also tore away the heat-insulating covering of the pipes of the AC. They have damaged a number of times the flower-pots and plants thereof. They spread filth around house-compound by passing urine and excreta. It is horrible!
Unfortunately very poor. You see dogs and cows everywhere, most of the times reason for slow movement of traffic especially in areas such as Maidagin and Gowdolia.
Does not have infrastructure and never tried to have one. With increase in population the cows/buffaloes also increased. Forget the infrastructure, they don't have expert catchers. So many stray Bulls roam the streets and lanes that it seems we are walking in jungle. The people get injured and sometimes lose life also after serious injuries.
Its only on paper or an occassional viewing of the van for catching stary animals. Varanasi city can boast of being the biggest open zoo with hordes of animals roaming the streets, dogs, cows, buffaloes, donkeys, monkeys, ponies, pigs etc.
