The maintenance of the public conveniences is negligible. First they are not available but where-ever it is available it is so filthy and unhygienic that public just avoids using it. And result street corners, by lanes are used as Open Urinals. Some private organisation has made public convenience on pay & use way but they also do not care. It is properly cleaned only when some officer or VIP is expected to pass by. Portable Toilets on ghats are also in shambles. Either they are not available to public (locked) or just unusable. Local Lions Clubs, Rotary & Jaycees constructed 5/6 of them but they also withdrew from it. Corporation did not maintain them. An influx of approx. 2/2.5 lakhs is daily in city but public convenience is insufficient for them. They openly relieve themselves. Further, villagers coming to city do not understand that why you have to pay to defecate.
