There is no head for sewerage management. The city is looking elegant after IFR as lot of money was pumped by NAVY and GVMC . The biggest problem the city is facing is that Sewarage Management is very poor. Now again untreated sewage is being through the main GEDDAS falling on sea o the beach road stretch from fishing harbour, coastal battery, RK Beach Bus Stand, Padurangapuram connection , Lawsons Bay, MVP Colony etc. As summer has started the stench is increasing from afternoon when the drains are drying up due to scorching sun . GVMC has to plan ,master fund to have Sewarage treatment plant to treat all Sewarage water of the city before th roughing to sea, if not utilise the proper Sewarage water for Industril and plant watering use. GVMC can no longer avoid this problem and look in other direction.
i live near old cbi office and the garbage collection or cleaning of roads are impeccable. the only problem is our citizens just throw the garbage around the bin instead of inside the bin. sweepers work till evening but next morning garbage is collected around the bin. rag pickers are one more nuisance who collect whatever they want and throw the rest around.
MM Jagannadha Rao GVMC and the staff are concentrating for collection only on main roads neglecting the narrow streets. The city being unplanned, many old areas flooded with garbage for days together especially, during public holidays. The garbage collecting truck drivers are complaining that many streets are filled with both sides parking of two/four wheeler. Some staff are collecting garbage manually and dumping at one place. But it is not lifted for days together. The surrounding residents are facing the mammoth of total garbage. It is better to allocate separate team streetwise. This is wrt to ward 25 - 30.
Though the garbage is collected the collection agents demand regular payment for collection and the collection depends on this aspect. Further the garbage collected and carried spills over en-route resulting in filling the garbage again
