As everyone is experiencing new DTH channels rules by TRAI made costlier for consumers. Ex. Myself used to pay Rs.250/month to cable TV operator in Attapur, Hyderabad, for about 200 channels. After trimming down to channels only we watch, we still have to pay about Rs.320 for SD & Rs.400 for HD channels.
What is the purpose of Basic price of Rs.153 (130+23), we hardly watch 10 channels out 100 what they say (but, actually, cable operator even couldn't provide 20 channels from the basic price). So, this basic pricing should be abolished and include those channels in the regional packs or pay per channel.
Ads in Pay per channel shall be stopped. Out of 30 minutes program, there is hardly 10-15 minutes only the main content and remaining is ads. Why we have to pay for ads? So, broadcasters need to stop ads in paid channels.

I did not get reply so far.
Further, earlier I also used to pay Rs.200/- to the Local Cable Operator (LCO) for unlimited channels. TRAI has introduced new system in which consumer is being squeezed by the LCOs and are charging heavily in the form of NCFs and Service Charge for which they are not giving any receipt. Broadcaster is totally under the control of LCOs and is not entertaining any complaint. This is a monopolistic situation wherein LCOs have become monopolies and are controlling the market totally. They (LCOs) are in no mood to extend Apps of Broadcaster to its consumers for selecting channels of their choice and consumers are made to run to their offices and made to wait for hours for selection of channels.
I think TRAI should come forward immediately in this matter.

Subject: Complaint against Tata Sky - Registration No.BPNLO/O/2019/00001
Importance: High
Dear Sir
I address this to you, being the Nodal Officer in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions responsible for issues dealing with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting under whom the vendor falls
I attach my complaint made vide email on 3rd April 2019 and the Tata Sky Reply dated 29th April 2019 . The complaint has been disposed off without application of mind by the officer concerned and my feedback given this morning on that is as under:
+++
The Under Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting
I asked the queries of you and not the vendor. All you did was pass the grievance to the vendor who came back with a template reply which is totally unsatisfactory
After your order, my billing for the same packages went up from Rs. 17000/-pa to Rs. 37000/- pa
How is this correct ?
I expect a response from you Sir !
+++
Whilst the spirit of the order was to lower costs, how are vendors being allowed to get away with huge increases ?
They obviously have found the loopholes and started packaging the offers in such a way that you pay through your nose. This is clear in the costs of charges for multi tvs in the same location with the same subscriber. The charges were Rs. 2250 pa and now its Rs. 8400 pa PER TV. Hence whilst they don’t violate the order, since it speaks nothing on that aspect, they have found a way to gyp the customers
Intervention is required urgently to curb the blatant violation of the spirit of the order as else the order is self defeating and there will be massive outrage against this
I look forward to your response at the earliest please
