The decision to scrap diesel cars which are more than 10 years old & have valid PUC despite having been registered for 15 years & having paid Road tax for full 15 years is grossly unjust to such owners . These days diesel car engines have life of 3 lac kilometres .
2. If the government still decides to go ahead & scrap such cars it must compensate its owners by paying them at least 33.33% of the cost at which it was bought from the showroom 10 years ago. This compensation is for the unutilised 5 years of life of the car .

Narendera Modi

Alternatively, the notification should be deemed applicable with prospective affect, i.e. diesel cars bought prior to issue of notification should be allowed to run their full life as per registration certificate. more

If pollution is the issue they should check the fitness of car in all respects including emission levels the allow . But all at their cost. If car is defective owner should repair and get the approval again. more

YEA PROBABLY COMPENSATION SHOULD BE INVERSELY PROPORTIONAL TO THE NO OF YRS AND/OR THE MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE.....OLDER CARS WITH HIGHER MILEAGE GET LESS COMPENSATED THAN LESSER MILEAGE CARS WHICH ARE RELATIVELY NEW!! A SLAB SYSTEM WILL DO WELL MAY BE.....BUT IS GST CHARGED ON DIESEL AND PETROL YET!? more
