WHY ARE PASSENGERS PUNISHED FOR BOOKING TICKETS ONLINE?
The govt wants us to go CashLess. But when we book tickets on the IRCTC website, we are required to pay a PUNITIVE "Convenience Fee" of Rs.35.40p PLUS banks charges an additional payment of Rs.10 to 15 as a punishment for payment to IRCTC.???
That is - we have to pay up an additional aprox Rs.50 per ticket.
So, if we have to book a simple to and return journey, we "SAVE" Rs.100 by paying cash at the railway counter.
AND with this the Railways LOSES in the following ways:
1. Stationery for request and ticket printing. (Save Paper- HaHa)
2. Unnecessary use of comtuter and printer.
3. Manning the ticket counter counter.
4. Risk and labour involved in handling of CASH, and then taking it to the bank.
5. Risk of getting fake currency.
SO : -
When we buy tickets online, the railways save :
1. Staff at booking counters.
2. Handling of cash. Money directly goes into railway's bank account.
3. No risk of getting fake currency.
4. Saving of the paper used by railways.
5. Saving usage of their computer and printer.
For this we, the passengers who book online SHOULD GET SOME CONCESSION.
BUT... We are punished and made to pay Rs.50 more per ticket.!!!
Government's CASHLESS POLICY - JUST A LOT OF BULL****.!
WE REQUEST RAILWAYS TO:
1. REMOVE PROMPTLY THIS PUNITIVE CHARGE.
2. GIVE RS.100 CONCESSION PER TICKET ON BOOKING TICKETS ONLINE.

So paying a little for these comforts has a price we have to pay. This happens in every case, then why Railway ticket is different, but IRCTC may consider bearing the additional charge by the portal payable to gateway service providers like Razorpay, Paytm etc. Nothing valuable is free in this world except the nature's gifts like air, water and the Sun. more
Completely disagree with that logic. more
