When a vehicle is sold the RC is getting transferred in the buyer's name but not the Fastag attached to the vehicle. The seller has to either transfer the Fastag along with vehicle or he has to surrender the Fastag before selling the vehicle. When the used vehicles are bought from dealers, the original owner is mostly not available for contact. In this case if some fastag exists in the vehicle and this was not properly transferred to the buyer or was not cancelled by the seller, the buyer of the vehicle, though got the name transferred in the RC book, cannot buy a fastag. There is solution available now.
Instead when a vehicle is sold and there are changes registered in the RC book, the fastag issuers should consider this as a proof and based on this proof should be able to cancel all the existing fastags in the vehicle so that the buyer can get a new fastag.
