Pension is only Honorarium for the long service rendered in Govt Depts. Pension should not be considered as an income for the sake of income tax. pension amount itself is megre , again taxing that has no meaning. when we were in service Tax deducted at source itself. There were the Hard Days for some of us that February & March month we use to get 1/2 of the monthly salary after deducting the income tax, hence we use to start keeping ration stock from NOV, DEC, JAN months itself to overcome hardship of maintaining our family. pension should not be considered as income. all other income other than gross pension can come under I T act.
