Teachers salaries are upwards of Rs 35,000/- per month. They are selected after ensuring they clear test and have necessary qualification.
But teaching is pathetic. Reasons are absenteeism, and teachers being used by govt for midday meals, election, surveys and other govt work.
Why not employ on contract a few persons in each school for such admin work, and let teachers focus on teaching.
Use technology , including call centre to ensure that the teachers are present in school, that s first step, and monitor quality fo teaching by surprise visits, Today teachers absent themselves and instead outsource it to junior by paying then 5-10,000/- and hence poor teaching.
Without proper foundation of these children , they find it difficult in higher classes. Also parents shift such kids to private schools., leading to closure of schools. If this is reality remove/sack teachers, will save govt outlay on such education.
This is situation in district towns, so situation in rural areas and interiors can be imagined. No wonder UP is lagging in this alongwith BIhar,
Delhi has made much progress in quality of such education.
Details can be provided to Govt.
Please support this cause for quality of education in our primary schools run by govt.
