Govt. must act tough against rail-roko and rasta-roko agitation by farmers picnicking at state borders as such nuisances continue to tarnish the image of the Central and State Governments. Earlier, governments used to take them in custody and release the miscreants at far off places or punish them for causing disharmony and offences commited. more
I have been associated with the Government of India for decades. My observation is that farmer and farms policies are formulated without full involvement of farmer bodies.Once I had pushed the Ministry of agriculture to invite farmers to a debate on policy for farmers and indeed it was extremely difficult and tricky for the government officials and private companies to handle the genuine farmer queries. The meeting exposed the government's one sided approach to farm and farmers problems. We need involve the farmers while formulating farm policies both at centre and state level. We must appreciate that the farmer is handling a business where uncertainties are almost hourly. Therefore not involving farmers in policies which are meant for them is stupid and deplorable. In the same breath Reliance/Tata etc like businesses are given full chance while policy is formulated which can affect their business. This kind of negligent attitude has resulted in an extremely poor farming/rural sector. The IAS and the poorly educated and self interested politicians must be blamed for these kind of anomalous representation of the farm/rural sectors interest and therefore it is no wonder that potential of India's agriculture is far from being adequately tapped. more
As best as could be said. Fully agree. We must appreciate that the farmer is handling a business where uncertainties are almost hourly. more
Cannot give counter explanation to stupidity. Government presenting everything as though they are doing great, but why show farmers badly! Who is responsible ultimately, when farms laws were brought about by stealth! Ok, one may say ordinance, but we needed far more deliberation and consensus. Poor deserve far better motivation to be taken into confidence than being simply dominated over, especially when prime minister is someone who has risen from among the masses. Today he behaves high handedly, his good flagship schemes like neem coated urea among several others. Nobody sees the cause, all see the consequence alone, prescribing punishment. more
You have already posted a stupid political comment.
I have more than 50 Kissan relative/friends in other region. NOBODY IS BOTHERED ABOUT THE LAW. Only the people controlling more than 80% of country's MSP purchase by Govt is bothered to get their cut-money.
More shockingly Kissan netas asking, about vaccination/ Article 370 and what not.
Criminal activities like Rail Roko must be handled with toughest way.
Alas that's difficult in our vote centric democracy. more
Not only Railways but blocking of Highways should also be considered as criminal offences and provisions for sever punishment should be provided under Cr P C. more
Protests are a fundamental legitimate right. But taking away rights of others to lead normal life can not be accepted. It is unfortunate that government is not able to curb erring protesters fro blocking highways and railways which are life line of a nation. more
Abbreviated understanding derived subjective suggestion should be taken as valid prescription for action? What about the stakeholders feeding the nation since our birth, as even the prime minister depends on them for his food. Less by orders of magnitude are the earnings in farming, compared to those netizens deriving working using computers. Let us remember that! Farmers deserve better. more
