रेलवे अपने कर्मचारी जैसे टी टी को सफाई और भोजन की गुणवत्ता को देखने की देकर सफाई और कैटरिंग में सुधर ला सकते हैं. इन चीजों के मानकता की जिम्मेदारी देकर और यदि मानकता जांचने में असफल रहें तो उन्हें दंड देकर. मेरे हिसाब से ऐसे करके हम सफाई और कैटरिंग में सुधार ला सकते हैं. more

TTE's don't have good reputation either. best will be to remove contract system from the food items and the local people be allowed to open food shops on the platforms and let the passengers decide which shop is good enough to provide good food. Only healthy competition can improve the food quality look at the shops out at phaar ganj outside New Delhi Railway Station who checks their quality it is the customer and the competition itself which checks the food quality as well as price and it is batter then Railway Food. Contractors take contacts of the whole railway station and some time almost a Zone and reissue the subcontracts to small wanders. and due to Monopoly and by bribing the authorities the food quality is down graded. more

The CATERING staff should have a MANDATORY training at some hospitality institute to ensure the CLEANLINESS & HYGIENE...the staff is illiterate a have hardly any knowledge of basic hand hygiene.....Students of MBA ( hotel management) could be invited to train these people and in return gain some experience from the nations largest employer.... more

1)The coaches in all trains should be CLEAN and not just eyewash... 2)coaches ought to be checked for leaks, cleanliness, whether the fans, lights or ACs are in working condition when the train is parked in the yard and before journey begins. It is a common observation that the train has non functional or defective equipment even before the journey and is NOT rectified even at the station of ORIGIN... 3)The food trays should be placed on food trolleys like in airlines so that they are NOT placed on floors and thus half of the hygiene problem is taken care of..... 4) Pest control is done BUT is only a chore..IT IS INEFFECTIVE and u could find roaches having a free run.. 5)The menu of railways could be tweaked by a professional hotel chef.. These are some relevant issues in my opinion may help in improving the railway services... more
