|| A MOVE TOWARDS SHAMEFUL EQUALITY ||
India has never been a disable-friendly country. It leads to inequality. So, government authorities in Delhi have decided to bridge the gap by making it an able-unfriendly city!
I don't know whether it is the brain of Delhi government or the South Delhi Corporation; but making the footpath almost two feet high is certainly a step towards making all disabled and able-bodied people equal. Congratulations!
(The garbage on the main roads? Oh, never mind that. मोदी जी ने पंगा लिया है. वही कुछ करेंगे... )
more Waste to energy facilities need to be developed. They can turn harmful wastes into sustainable energy.Transformation of millions of tons of agricultural, municipal and industrial wastes into sustainable clean energy and other by-products will replace the need for environmentally harmful landfills that pollute soil, underground water tables and atmosphere along with the release of damaging greenhouse gases. End-to-end development of complex infrastructure system that turns wastes into sustainable energy requires excellence in financing, technical competency, regulatory compliance, feedstock procurement and project management. Waste to clean energy development is a complex emerging industry.

Firstly they are converting Delhi to a concrete Jungle (this is the idea of development). Secondly the 2ft high walkways are done as when they come to make the roads again they never dig and build the roads they always make roads on Roads due to which you will notice that socities on the sides of the roads go down and roads go up.

There are no rules or standards for foot paths, speed breakers or road berms or any thing relating to roads and pathways ---It is the mistry (bricklayer or worker on the spot) who decides how to construct each according to his fancy---- no engineer or architect or any supervisor looks at the work being done or to see any standards are followed or not. It is just God's Grace.

This is not a move towards shameful equality but hidden way of earning for few.

Tell me one area in which our local bodies, whether the incompetent and citizen-unfriendly municipal corporations, or the PWDs, have done anything ever that meets the citizen's expectations? To plan such things we need qualified engineers and town planners. What our corporations have are a bunch of jokers who are only there for self-aggrandisement at the expense of the citizen. When you visit any foreign city, whether in the West or East, you see the difference between their urban ambience and ours - in cleanliness, upkeep, aesthetics, infrastructure, sensitivity to the less able, etc. All over the world there are movements for city regeneration; while Indian cities are only degenerating day by day!
