Clean Air actions for World Environment Day

The World Environment Day 2018 is on June 5 and below are some of your inputs in regards to improving air quality in Indian Cities.

Kindly review them below and share any other sustainable actions that must be taken immediately so air quality come winter 2018 is better than 2016 and 2017.

Citizen inputs for Clean Air:

1) Ensure seeding equipment subsidy is reaching farmers and plan enforcement of stalk burning ban with State Governments
2) Guide municipalities on best practices to enforce no garbage burning and related awareness
3) Implement construction rules that prohibit open dust generation during winters
4) Enforce restricted city entry of 10+ year old commercial vehicles during winters
5) Have a process that restricts operations of hot mix plants during winters
6) Plant as many trees during the remaining summer season
7) If feasible, mechanise cleaning of streets by municipalities

Kindly note that we would prefer inputs that can have a positive impact this winter as well as actions that every citizen must take! more

Corruptions exist everywhere in the country. Municipal corporations & councils do spend their entire allocated budget under the head every year without doing quality work. Whatever is done is only to cover up without any quality work fruitful to the purpose. The state governments make big claims every year of planting trees in crores but the ground reality says different stories but in the process the entire budgeted funds are shown as spent, which is practically eaten up by the people of the related departments and the politicians. No one is concerned to ensure as to how the numbers of planted trees was arrived at! Everything done in the names of 'Swachch Bharat' and 'Improved Environment & Clean Air' are not more than cover up with cooked data to make loot of the public money. more
We talk too much and in realty on ground the work done is very less.Corruption is the main issue. We do'nt believe in quality work.MCGM is the live example of this. more
Government should encourage research on using Hydrogen gas produced as per demand from water by elctrolysis principle. Our Lions Club members have done it and is getting wonderful results. (1) No pollution (2) saving in fuel 25 to 40 %. This will revolutionise the economy of the country. Reduce corruption, save fuel, Earn Carbon credits. Working model available for demonstration. more
Good suggestions and let them be implemented. more
