I travelled in train no. 15016 in 2A from Yesvantpur to Gorakhpur and my date of journey was 5th October. Myself and few other passengers were not provided with the hand towel. When I asked about it with the concerned person then he told me that it's finished. How it's possible? The train reaches Nagpur next day morning around 10:30 AM and the next stoppage is Itarsi around 4:40 PM. Since there is no pantry car, either people carry there own food or they give order to the vendor (of course a railway employee) for lunch who makes a note of the birth no. and provides the lunch. The vendor came around 4:00 PM and started taking orders for dinner. Since, I was not carrying my own food, I gave him the order and asked him at what time it will be served. He told me that it will be served at around 5:30 PM. OMG. who will have dinner at 5:30 PM. I told him to cancel my order. But he keep on insisting me to give the order as dinner will not be available thereafter and I will have to be hungry full night. I got scared after listening to him and ordered for dinner. The dinner was served when the train reached Itarsi. As soon as the train left Itarsi, again vendors came in to take the orders for dinner at 9:00 PM. I gave the order again for 9:00 PM dinner and had to throw my already ordered food away in the bin. Along with me few other passengers also had to throw their food. That guy was such a liar and it was not only one guy, it was group of guys and all were in uniform. I wish I could have taken their pics. more

The next most common trouble faced by all the passengers the problem of Hijras who trouble the passengers until they part with their money.In fact the hijras will not move out until money is paid to them.If money is not paid,they abuse the passengers with the choicest of the words in front of others. To avoid such instances they hapless passengers just give money as soon as they see these people.The railway police also do not help in these cases. more

The most troubling corruption is faced by the general traveler.The touts occupy the seats in the general compartment and then when the general passengers get into the compartment the touts demand money from the passengers and then vacate the seats. This is commonly observed in the night mail trains on Chennai Bangalore route. more

I have one suggestion to MINIMIZE CORRUPT PRACTICES (Can never be ruled totally), CREATE TOTAL AWARENESS TO PUBLIC THAT WHEN EVER THEY COME ACROSS MAL PRACTICES BY TTE / TTI IN ALLOCATING BIRTHS. JUST USE SMART PHONE & TAKE PICTURE & WHATSAPP TO RLY. SIMILARLY FOR FOOD & OTHER CORRUPT PRACTICES. HOWEVER, RLY TO GIVE GUARANTEE THAT NAME OF PASSENGER WILL NOT SURFACE & WILL TAKE PROMPT ACTION AGAINST TTI / TTE / RPF / VANDOR & CIRCULATE PUBLICALLY. I AM SURE JUST WITH HUNDRED CASES & ACTION WILL CHANGE SITUATION. more

where there is no open tender for sourcing/disposal corruption creeps in. in manpower sourcing everybody should be inducted through 900 Emp Exchanges on temporary basis.
