Online Pharmacies – Issues

1.They do not disclose MRP and expiry dates on the app/site
2.The genuineness of the medicines procured for online pharmacies cannot be guaranteed
3.They take long time to deliver medicines
4.Many sites store the payment/card details of the users without their permission
5.These pharmacies do not store the medicines properly in their warehouses and during transit to consumers
6.Many times, these online pharmacies do not have sufficient stock of medicines
7.They release misleading ads like ‘55% off on medicines’ to attract customers
8.They take the order and then when the delivery comes after 3-4 days, a note just says that certain medicines were unavailable
9.Once you sign up on these sites, they just flood your mailbox and phone with offer messages one sms atleast every day.
10.Sometimes the Batch no and Expiry date mentioned in bill and actual medicine differ.
11.Some time they do not take returns for the wrong medicine they ship.
12. While accepting payment on delivery, they accept cash only.
13.On line pharmacies and pharmacists indicate low prices alternative medicines but when the customer orders them, they delay the supply saying that these medicines are not in stock.
14.They don’t deliver part orders and give site wallet credit to the customer instead of returning to card/bank.
15.E-pharmacies claim to have in-house pharmacists to evaluate the prescriptions but many times they cant even understand the name of the medicine.
16. Stickers put on the price /expiry tag showing increased prices/advanced expiry dates.
17.Torn/damaged packages are received sometimes.
18.Shipping of wrong medicine is also something that customers face.
Its a major hassle ordering via epharmacies, they call you repeatedly and then you give up and just go for 10% discount at neighborhood pharmacy. more

Hospitals, private hospials, nursing homes should also be included as they did neither give bills or details, rather sold it on MRP for their in house patients... and do not allow to buy from outside more
Netmeds, pharmeasy, Medlife all have been really good online portals to order from! Great deals, good discounts, & prompt deliveries have marked my transactions!! I think the modus operandi of e-pharmacy has been relatively new and I think it's doing very well in its customer promises and value deliverance!! more
Manipulation in prices and expiry dates is a serious offence as well as criminal act. One is to dupe the consumers and the other is not less than an attack on the life of the patients concerned. To stop such foul games, the government should immediately enact suitable laws against such manipulation with the provisions for stringent punishment for those found guilty of involving in indulgent of such crimes. more
Many online facilities fail due to requirements of cross verification. Treat it as a store for sales. more
I buy online from Netmeds. A couple of time I have faced delayed delivery. Other than that I have not faced any other issue. The retail price and expiry dates are always available at the time of booking and they show the discount after showing the MRP. Also, for medicines which need supply under refrigerated condition they despatch through special delivery. I received them in cold condition. They also did not accept to sell those medicines in another despatch address where they cannot deliver through special courier, and this was indicated at the time of booking only. Hence my conclusion is: like all other online platform, here also there are some genuine and efficient sellers and some are not. People need to choose the good & efficient sellers. more
