It is not only water wasted for colouring the face & dress of the persons on whom holy colour is poured; but also all those people have to use water & soap detergents to clean them as some use oils to colour the people. Officials going for meeting, people going to hospitals; people with different situation; when these holy colouring people pour colour water on them; create a very sorrowful situation. Holy to be played among similar and like minded boys or girls without doing it on people going for some purpose. It spoils the situation and leads to communal tension etc., When it is pleasure for someone; it is sorrow for another; as we have rich & poor in society. When one celebrates happily; others will be mourning the death like Sridevis death. SO, We have to live with understanding of all the people in our surrounding & not just for ones enjoyment alone. When one celebrate and enjoy & merry making; it should not be hurting to others; who will be in mourning or other bad situations.

Definitely it saves water in 2 ways: one is what we use to dilute with and the 2nd lots of water is used in removal of the colour from body as well from the places like stair cases, flooring and clothes etc. Now a days people prefer to play dry Holi which is quite sensible. It does not spoil your cloths too. Wet Holi is a health hazardous causes skin dieses, alergies etc. which is much more painful. more
