It's me Sutirtha from West Bengal. I want to share my frustrating experience with Reliance Life Insurance, where I was repeatedly misled by their representatives:
1. In August 2024, I bought Policy No. 53271817 and was convinced to purchase another policy (Policy No. 53307161) under the false promise of a one-time payment. Turns out, it was a recurrent policy, and I couldn’t surrender it once I realized the mistake.
2. In February 2024, after expressing financial concerns, I was assured my policies would be closed and transferred to a new one. I bought another policy (Policy No. 54429334) but later got payment reminders for the original policies.
3. I was then advised to buy yet another policy (Policy No. 54570045) with the promise of safeguarding my investment, but now I want to surrender it due to continuous misguidance.
After seeking help from another branch, I discovered that I had been misled throughout the process. I am now at risk of losing a significant amount of money if I surrender any of these policies. I would like to request a refund of the invested amount along with any dues, but I'm uncertain whether I will receive any assistance from them.
🚨 Be cautious! Reliance Life Insurance's sales tactics have caused me financial distress. I have call records as evidence. Please share to warn others.

The Consumer Protection Act in India provides mechanisms to address grievances related to goods and services, including insurance policies. If you’re unable to get a satisfactory resolution through the company, the Consumer Protection Act allows you to approach the consumer forum for resolution. more
Mostly, the booking of orders are done by IVR or AI driven communication (particularly in Amazon, Net connections and complaints.) There is a standard set of questionnaire offered, which looks obscure when we are not able to register our complaints. There are more options to book new orders by them. As we are tensed at that situation we mistake the offers as solutions and press. Madam there will be a chance to talk to them an d a Number will be given. PLEASE CALL THAT NUMBER AND , YOU MAY HAVE TO WAIT FOR SOME TIME. Patiently wait and inform the when your call is responded. Normally they are polite. more
The agents/representatives of all the insurance companies including the nationalised companies are engaged in such wrong and misguiding practices. We are at fault because of over reliance on these people and becoming their preys easily by accepting their proposals with closed eyes without verifying their statements and promises with the relevant documents of the companies concerned. We awake only after putting in our substantial hard earned money at stake. In this case, the investor can expect relief only through the Consumer Forum. Referring the issue to the IRDA may be only waste of time. more
I think there should be some Govt agencies, who can take action on such grieviences. more
If you know some of them please let me know. Thank you more
