1 in 3 women in India gets beaten up by husband/family

Its really nice that women who have taken to smartphones etc. are making progress. I share with you the headline statistic which says 1 in 3 Indian women per Govt survey is a victim of domestic violence. 1 in 4 in Maharashtra gets beat up by husband.

If all these women who have taken to gadget use in last 10 years, i wonder what percentage of them are victims of domestic violence.

It Govt introduced an easy way for women to file complaints of domestic violence and created mega awareness, wouldnt that play a big role.

Just like to hear what everyone has to say. more

Marriage is patriarchal. Women shouldn't marry. Ever. We should promote open relationship. more
Full freedom is required for men and women. Even though there are laws that seems in favor of woman, I don't think this has reached the common woman of the society. Those who disagree please you can look at news around, the number of physical assaults and abuses against woman and this itself shows the physical use of will against woman has not gone away. Yes there could be misuse of laws, that could be by so called elite woman's. Or those who has got some kind of political influence or lime light. A household or common woman needs more empowerment. Govt should open offices in every ward in a village / corporation, where woman can go, talk openly about harassment and seek help. These should not be police officials, but social workers who are trained to handle woman issues. Especially in rural and with low education group, these social workers should do a door to door check once in a while to see what's happening. Physical assault / abuse is abuse, if its against a woman or men, there should be an end to it. more
Limitless Freedom is untenable and dangerous more
See the other side, many women are harassing their MIL,FIL and Husbands under false cases and are making life miserable specially for Senior Citizens. more
Our laws favour women who are always ready with false cases of dowry torture, domestic violence, rape and in future martial rape too. It is the men who require protection and sympathy since no rabble -rousing feminists will come to their rescue by staging 'spontaneous' protests. more
Ban and Criminalise Adultery. Family will be Honoured more
It is shocking that it is so in 2021 when every other day we get news of outstanding success of woman in variety of fields. All our ancient sayings are more on paper. Why our text books do not preach equality and due respect to female gender through whole schooling? Will it not make some difference? Our schooling needs to focus on character building and upholding values more than anything else. more
Manager x Worker tendency is incorrect. She is Life Partner in Family set-up more
