$10 Billion demand boost

Central Govt employees can now use LTC plus 3 times ticket fare to buy goods which attract 12% or more GST. Digital purchases only.

Central Govt employees will get festival advance of INR 10000 interest free in form of Rupay card.

This is recommended by the Govt for state govts psus and private sector too. LocalCircles should perhaps do a survey so if private sector employees want it their employers do it.

Attached details. more

The scheme may appear quite cosy but really not so. One has to do some exercise to indicate the destination and ticket cost by plane or train as per entitlement on the date. LTC flight ticket has a fixed price & usually more expensive than cheap ticket, it's not flexible or dynamic pricing but rail ticket price is dynamic and one has to give a valid proof of price. That can get him entitled the amount as tax free provided three times amount expenditure to be incurred on purchasing the products that invite 12% GST or more. Imagine any one has a family members of 5-6 including dependents, how much he has to spend on purchase to claim tax free. One should have a deep sense while formualting such policy. People have no surplus money in these days to spend. It's nothing unknown to anyone even to Govt. Failed to understanbd why such innovative idea comes from Govt. to make the people fool in a period of turmoil. Really very unfortunate and a common man also understands such measures never boost economny any way rather it invites people to engage in debate only leaving behind other serious issue. more
Government's announcement is not attractive at all. If I get 100 Rs. as LTC, I have to spend at least Rs. 300. Where is extra money? Govt's proposal seems to be without home work. Reason... Scheme is for employees. An employee gets Rs. 20000 to some lakh as LTC.. So the employee has to spend Rs. 60000 to 3 times his total LTC benefit.... Some employees can buy TC, AC, Bike...etc. for 20000 - 60000 range... But, the employee who gets a lakh and has to spend 3 lakhs, what will he buy? Already one of the anchors of a business channel has stated today morning "who will avail and who will spend?" more
It is one of the practical solution and good step. more
I do not understand this post. It is good for any government to help its populace in these troubled times. I doubt, though, some of the verbiage in this posting. Where will Rs.73,000 come from? By printing more money? By diverting funds used for other expenditures? If so, how the recipients of those expenditures will be impacted? I did not read all the verbiage, but hope it addresses these points. Smt. Sitaraman is a smart cookie, so I am sure she has formulated this initiative nicely. more
Still it can be regulated.A maximum limit of ltc can be fixed reasonably. Tax payers money is wasted as as too much salaries to Govt employees .On the other hand ,money can be made to spent on agriculture, textile ,transport ,power ,energy sector.Supporting the real ,relevant export sector can be encouraged,Health security is important and our people can think of investing in this industry. more
