120 days of Swachh Bharat - Citizen Review

What's Working:
1. Food vendors have started keeping dustbins
2. Lutyen’s Delhi area has become extremely clean, well maintained and free from encroachment
3. Places directly controlled by the Central Government like railway stations and petrol pumps look cleaner now
4. The movement has created the awareness
5. Citizens seem to be doing more collectively than their local civic body
6. The new generation has become quite serious, though the old one still needs more training
7. Collective inputs on state of things through Swachh Bharat circle is a great initiative provided MOUD gets them implemented with local civic bodies
8. Practical checklists generated are very useful but MOUD, I&B need to broadcast them to every Indian

Not Working:
1. This drive has fizzled out in many states with no actions from local municipality
2. Municipalities are still very lazy and garbage is not picked up on time
3. The municipal workers still don’t have the right tools
4. Central and State Government unable to energize local civic agency personnel
5. The local civic agency management still missing in Swachh Bharat constituency circle and therefore not connected to community problems on ground
6. No changes in the bad drainage and sewer systems
7. People still spit on to the road
8. Commuters still throw things out of moving vehicle
9. One can see many people still urinating on roads and defecating in open
10. No actions visible to get defunct public toilets restarted again or building new
11. Compared to the number of people visiting public places, there aren't enough dustbins more

Generally while travelling by train the following are very much visible and tells upon very badly about our country: 1. Near residential area on either side of Railway track milch animals are tied up and their cow dung are causing bad sight, 2. Men and women, children are are usually go to open fields, especially on either side of the Railway track land for defecation, 3.dumping railway rolling stocks like condemned rails, rail wheels, etc by railway staff on either side of the track, 4. public have unhindered approach to the railway lands for extending their habitats without permission, 5.Large area of Railway lands remain unutilized , and are encroached and there seems to no realization on the part of Railway ministry, 6. formally on either side of the tracks, thorny shrubs were cultivated in order to prevent culprits to jump from the train after committing crime, are now absent in large stretches. Such mistakes have to be rectified. more

Even In Delhi only NDMC area is clean but lets not forget it was clean even before the call by PM Modi. The day MCD , DDA , etc will show efficiency we can say that Delhi is changing as NDMC manages only 4% of the city ! more
Bangalore Municipal corporation seems to be impervious to the idea of swach Bharat. I do not move out very much but the road on which my building stands, the 17th main road where it joins the Kothanoor road in J.P.Nagar 7th phase the BMC has dug up the sweage at the road corner and kept it as such over the past 4 days or so. Any vehicle going from 17th main to Kothanoor road is likely to fall into the ditch if not extremely careful. Should it require so many days for BMC to cover up the drain? more
