Yes, diabetic patients r generally advised by doctors not to eat more of fruits like bananas, mangoes, sapotas, custard apples etc. But some patients with controlled Diabetis r advised to take very little of these or not more than 1 a day. It's b'coz these all fruits contain glucose n fructose which raise the blood sugar level. It should be balanced with necessary physical activity to burn the calories n also regulate the sugar levels with other food stuff, rich in proteins, fats n reduce intake of carbohydrates. So best is, to consume veg-protein n veg-fat rich foodstuff. Most of these fruits r needed as they contain other nutrients like potassium, magnesium, vitamins n many others besides fructose, glucose etc. n easy to digest also for the aged. more
