I feel that the government should not charge GST to societies, where is the profit and where is the manufacturing and selling. All they do maintain the society, keep it clean for a Swachh Bharat. What a shame or a sham? more
Housing societies not giving bills from electricity board. As i am assuming Maintenance company purchase electricity from Electricity Board and distributed in society. Please correct me if i am wrong. more
I think it should not be levied by Govt. more
Dear Anandrao Naik, My understanding, it is something like the Government is extending services to the Citizens but not liable to pay any GST. Housing Societies are not the supplier of electricity on commercial basis and it is only managing on behalf of its residents. Housing society is not making any profits out of the services. Therefore, my opinion is that NO GST is payable by the Housing Society and it should also not charge it from the residents as long it is not adding any profit and its accounts are transparently managed in respect of Electricity Supply. more
