185 station surroundings absolutely clean

the Ministry of Urban Development report as shared by some members in Swachh circle states that 185 top stations in the country have absolutely clean surroundings.

Can i please request local circles or ministry of railways to conduct a poll in this railways circle of 158,604 members and ask them the same. I am sure we cover all those stations of the country and if required could even to go to our local station and report back.

Lack of action would indicate something. more

What are the criteria of the cleaned stations? In Pataliputra Station there was so huge mosquito at 10 PM that one can not stand just for a while. Like this there are so many stations , you will find bad smell from the toilets, poor lighting , no water and so on. more
Catering For Whom: Railway has alloted stalls and catering to contractors for onward sales and collection of premium. The original owners never visut such stalls. If Railway disagrees they should view the CCTV footage. Each such middlemen collects 10000 to 50000 per stall as per location and sub let it to some other persons. This process sometimes go upto four to five layers. So finally every passenger is paying Indian Democratic, secular constitutional haffttas to such contractors for nothing. If final operator is paying Rs 30000-40000 per month, what kind of quality he can maintain. Entire Railway know thsi fact yet they are silent, Why, A ticket cannot be transferred you will be jailed, a stall can be transferred, you will be rewarded as you pay hafftta the only work our Railway do. Now if Railway do not understand ABC of catering, how can it ensure quality. Forget catering, concentrate on other factors. Let people find out their own ways as Railway will never think beyond Hafftta. All such exercises are carried to fool people. The first an dforemost requirement as on Today is to allot all catering contracts and stall including existing one by open tender and ensure that these are not sublet and contractor himself runs the show. Allotment cannot be made a constitutional haffttakhori business. If Railway does not understand, people should unite to let Railway understand. more
Station may be cleaned , but I really doubt about the surroundings. Check the coaches also , it's dirty all over. But citizens are equally responsible for throwing Garbage, Spitting Gutka & Paan. Worst of all, I have seen people take bath, wash clothes from Railway waters. more
I happened to pass through the following well maintained stations: Howrah[ ER/SER], Tatanagar[ SER], Rampur Hut [ ER]. On Wed, May 3, 2017 at 12:41 PM, Amit Mishra wrote: > more
