2 hours of cleanliness every week - Addl Inputs

Dear all:

We had earlier requested inputs on specific things that every Indian can do during the 2 hour/week cleanliness time. Here are some of them however, we would like the list to be more specific.

If you have additional specific inputs based on your experience over the last 45 days, please share.

How to spend the 2 hours of cleanliness

1. Schedule the 2 hour cleanliness time and stick to it every week
2. The last hour of the of the week at work must be spent cleaning the desk and office area.
3. In neighbourhoods, 8am to 9am of every Sunday should be announced as cleanliness hour (in consultation with other members of the colony)
4. Go around your neighbourhood to check the dustbins. Report to the RWA/authorities if some are missing or broken.
5. Take turns and supervise the Municipal worker in cleaning the colony/area and instruct the do’s and don’ts. Report any gaps to authorities or create awareness about them through your Swachh Bharat local circle.
6. Take turns and educate the staff, vendors on cleanliness do's and don'ts
7. Walk around the neighbourhood educating//taking to other residents about the importance of cleanliness in the area
7. Ensure "Guidelines for Cleanliness" in the colony are posted and visible
8. At workplaces, make sure that every desk has a separate dustbin
9. Put some cleanliness tips in writing in strategic places such as wash room, corridors, sub ways, Entrance / Exit Gates, Staircase etc.
10. Organize a feedback session once a month to understand the learnings of the cleanliness drives and apply learning to the next drive (Neighborhood and Workplace)

Thanks for your participation!

Dear sir kindly innovate;-develop a self contained individual urinal system like we carry water bottele we should be able to urinate in pblic but with private space it is possible needs little support-hssharma m-09873020599 e;-huda1921@gmail.com in bangkok they have portable toilets in taxi why not in india more
We can prepare a list of dos and don'ts using creative art and take printouts. Get permission to stick them or use placards in markets, shops, and apartment common places. May even use cartoon characters so that little children will be interested to do some cleaning too. more
we should spear at least 2 hours for cleanliness of own area every week like a habit more
The most vital things which can be done are: 1.people should go for campaigning in every household and gently making the people aware about the swachha bharat mission. 2.peple living in appartments or complexes should arrange for seperate bins for bio degradable and platic wastes in every household from the common maintainence fund..moreover it should be insisted that people make proper use of the bins. 3.on the way back from office or while taking a stroll ie when not in a hurry we should see to it that people don't throw wastes on road or spit on public walls or urinate on roadsides we should protest and ask them not to do it and if possible pick up the wrappers or other wastes which they have littered and through them in the dustbin in front of their eyes so before doing it again they think twice more
Dear Friend, Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan is a big change which is to be brought or adopt by the masses at large. Two hours a week as a good idea because the duration of time is not important as much as the amount of pressure it gives on the mind of individual person carrying the message of cleanliness. The sweepers should attend their work as per their working hours marked in there wage register. It should be made mandatory that 50% of HR amount should spend on toilets only. The design & cost of toilets including material to be used & size etc. should be frozen as per the cost decided to avoid any corruption. There should be penalty & punishment if some person is caught for misuse of funds. The lesson of cleanliness must be taught at all levels and all ages, educated or uneducated people of our society.
