20000 per hectare was the bribe rate for re-survey of land
Gujarat Police has nabbed a District Inspector Land Record (DILR) working in DILR Jamin Daftar office in Botad in a bribe case involving the sum of Rs. one lakh. Accused Sanjay Ravaliya is a class-2 staffer.
According to ACB, a complainant in this case wanted re-survey of his land, for which the accused Inspector (Nirikshak) demanded bribe of Rs. 40,000 per hectare. After some bargaining, the final sum of the bribe was settled at Rs. 20,000 per hectare. The accused demanded Rs. 2 lakh for 10 hectares of land for its resurvey and measurement from the complainant. more
