When the weekly trains can be run on the existing track on the specified day, why can't the same trains cannot be run on daily basis. When No. of trains increased, the cost will be reduced. I mean charges per km. will be very less. more

The Pallvan express that was introduced between TrichyJn to Chennai Egmore in 1980 has been unnecessarily extended to Karaikudi and the service is atagreat loss to rlys as there are very few passengers from Trichy to Karaikudiand vice versa The rlys can run seprate train suited to the travelling public of Karaikudi. The Rlys admn should examine the earning from Mannarkud a small town whose train track itself was removed for more thaqn a decade because of very poor patronage and now rest ored . This small town has a direct express to Tirupathi Does it fetch sufficient revenue to meet the operating expenses. It is a drain on the revenues of the railways. Similarly there isaweekly direct express to Jothpur from this small town. The Railway admn shouldrun such services from TrichyJn via Srirangam a big Vaishnavite city which willbe highly remunerative. A long felt need for a direct express from TrichyJn to Bangalore should also be explored. It should be remembered that Trichy has several central educational institutions like NIT IIM National law school and scores engineering institutuons to which students from other cities come for study. These aspects should be taken to consideration Besides Trichy was the Headquarters of the former South Indian Railway whose jurisdiction was throughout the entire southern peninsula and now a divisional headquarters. Trichy Jn should be basic station for all long distance trains and should not be reduced as a way side station It has all facilities for cleaning carriages repairs etc These vital points should be borne in mind more

Similarly 22615/22616 Coimbatore to Tirupathi train is also be made as daily train. Now this has become prominent train to the passengers. more
