2nd dose vaccine in India

No more automatic booking for 2nd dose. Earlier, after ur 1st dose, your 2nd dose booking would automatically happen on CoWin for 29th day frm 1st dose.

Now you can choose your 2nd dose date for :

Covaxin : 28-42 days
Or
Covishield : 28-56 days more

The datewise schedule for the 2nd dose of the vaccine attached more
There is some confusion with the gap between the first and the second dose of Covishield (from Astra Zeneca): - CoWIN site states the gap as 4 to 8 weeks (same as mentioned by you) - WHO recommends a longer 8 to 12 weeks gap between the two doses as stated in the following link: https://www.who.int/news-room/feature-stories/detail/the-oxford-astrazeneca-covid-19-vaccine-what-you-need-to-know more
In view of the sad experience of Mr Manglik while trying to reschedule his 2nd dose, Senior members of Local circles could suggest to the concerned authorities that the Cowin website be modified to enable rescheduling of the 2nd dose anytime after the 1st dose more
Just found this on the website "citizen matters.in" - "When to take the second dose of vaccination and can slot for the second dose be rescheduled? Second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine will be administered 29 days after the first dose. The beneficiary can change the slot for the second dose but only between 29th day to 42nd day. However, this option will be available under the following conditions: I. Only if the first dose has been administered, and II. Only at those vaccination centres where the vaccine type is the same as the one used in the first dose. " Hope it helps. more
Now second dose will be between 6 to 8 weeks after first dose. I tried to register for 2nd dose on 29th day from the date of my first dose but i was again registered for 1st dose only and my status of 'VACCINATED' disappeared from the App. I do not know as what to do for registering for 2nd dose. I took my 1st dose on 8th March. Can some body advise? more
Mr Manglik, plz see my clarificatory post below.
As to what you can do now that your vaccinated status shows cancelled, I'm sure clarifications will come.
Since your 1st dose date was 8th March, 29th day would fall on 6th April.
You could try again then. more
Very important query, lacs of ppl who got their 1st dose are affected.
Someone from Local circles who's in touch with concerned authorities may plz ascertain & post clarification more
