3 Municipal Improvements in your area/city

A good bit of effort has gone in improving cleanliness and waste management. We would like to seek your inputs on 2-3 things that have improved in your area/city in the last 18 months of Swachh Bharat Mission.

We will conduct a separate exercise on what has not improved to determine next steps but this will help us understand, where what is working well.

No Improvement yet in Vasant Kunj Area. The Dhalaos still overflows with Garbage spilling out onto the road. The MCD safaiwalas still shirk work as usual. The drains are still overflowing at many places despite the claims of SDMC to have started de-silting work ahead of schedule. more
TO START WITH SANITATION WORKERS SHOULD NOT DAILY SWEEP STREETS IN THE CITIES. THESE DAYS WE THROW HOUSE SWEEPING AT NIGHT TIME IN THE STREETS SAYING THAT WORKERS WILL COME EARLY IN THE MORNING AND SWEEP OUR DOMESTIC RUBBISH. IF THE WORKER DOES NOT COME IN THE MORNING WE LODGE COMPLAINT TO THE LOCAL AUTHORITY OR THE LOCAL REPRESENTATIVE ELECTED BY US. IF THE WORKERS ARE DEPUTED ON ALTERNATIVE DAYS FOR SWEEPING WORK, IT WILL REDUCE THE COST OF SANITATION TO ALMOST HALF AS THE SANITATION IS LABOUR INTENSIVE JOB. MOREOVER WE WILL THROW THE DOMESTIC SWEEPING ON ALTERNATIVE NIGHTS THUS IMPROVING ON OUR HABITS. AS PILOT PROJECT LOCAL BODIES SHOULD START THE EXPERIMENT ON SELECTIVE BASIS AFTER GIVING IT DUE PRIOR PUBLICITY. IN SOME AREAS THE SANITATION WORK SHOULD BE DONE TWICE A WEEK IN SHOPPING AREAS SANITATION WITHIN ONE METRE OR SO SHULD BE THE DUTY OF ESTABLISHMENT OWNER/OCCUPIER IT WILL CULTIVATE SOME GOOD HABITS WHICH WE LACK more
The dirtiest and the filthiest station in the world is Kurla - Mumbai and it is high time that all railway stations be given sole advt / sponsorship rights to pvt parties so that maintenance and upkeep becomes a necessity even as they strive to sell their brand and products by earning goodwill. WIn-Win for everyone more
Definitely there has been an improvement in the cleanliness. However we the prople are still throwing rubbish on the streets and spitting. At railway stations there are about 2 bins on the platform, no one walks that distance to throw a chips wrapper etc. More bis required both at stations and along roads. Had suggested that Swaccha Bharat must start with the nursery & primary school children and by parents at home. more
Noida, sector 18 shopping area has become considerably cleaner than before. However, I would suggest that the NOIDA authority should install more numbers of large size waste bins, something like 1 bin after every 5-6 shops, so that people have a refuse bin close by for disposing off waste material. more
