Babita ji, there is only one way in the whole world to lose weight: eat less. Or rather consume less calories and spend more calories. The calories deficit is what leads to weight loss. You dont have to starve yourself, in fact you must not, rather replace high-calorie foods with low-calorie ones, like have more salads, fruits - limited nonetheless, cut down on breads in all forms, avoid soda completely, sugar minimum possible, and so on. It is a good idea to simultaneously engage in more physical activities, exercises, and so on. They do not have to be more strenuous that what you can do without excessively exerting yourself. In the minimum, do a brisk 4-km walk daily, almost religiously, 5-6 times a week. It will happen for sure... more  
I am 37 height 5ft 7 inch. I reduced my weight from 82kgs to 71kg. In 9 months just by walking about 6 kms per day 5 times a week. My weight loss is consistent and due to some reasons couldnt walk stock 20 day but weight has not increased more

I'M 73 AND CAN SHARE WITH YOU MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. LAST YEAR WE VISITED MY SON WHERE HE AND MY DAUGHTER IN LAW LOOKED AFTER US VERY MUCH WHICH WE ENJOYED BUT IN THE PROCESS I GAINED 3 KGS(70 T073) WHICH MADE MY PANTS TIGHT AND UNCOMFORTABLE. INSTEAD OF GOING TO DOCTORS, BESIDES VISUALISATION I DECIDED TO CUT ABOUT 300 CALORIES FROM MY DAILY DIET IN A VERY SIMLE AND PRACTICAL MANNER. FROM BREAKFAST I REDUCED ONE PARATHA(2 TO1) 200 CAL. AND ONE CHAPATI EACH FROM LUNCH AND DINNER(3 TO2) 60 CALS EACH BESIDE SOME EASY CARE TO TAKE A LITTLE LESS SUGAR. I FIRST MONTH I LIST ONE KG, WHICH KEPT ON REDUCING AND LAST MONTH I LOST HALF KG. I'M NOW 69 KGS AND FEEL FINE. MY DIET HAS FOUND EQUILIBRIUM AND I WANT TO KEEP IT. HAPPY TRYING BUT DO NOT OVERDO AND DO NOT FEEL STRESSED AT ALL. ENJOY BEING WHAT YOU ARE. more  
Start with stopping bread chapatis and other things comprising carbs. All veggies and dals and everything else we consume every day are more than enough to meet our daily requirement for carbohydrate. Make this ur 1st step u ll definitely lose 2 to 4 kgs in a month or less. more
