40% GST on Coffee ???
Yesterday, I had an Americano, Black coffee, no milk, no sugar at Theobroma coffee shop at Colaba, Mumbai.
just coffee, nothing else.
They charged a whopping 40% GST on the coffee...
So Rs.100/- for the black coffee, and 20% CGST + 20% SGST... total Rs.140/- !!!
Is this right?

Reporting to GST authorities will not have any effect as it'll take months to come up and even then action can take years. It's better to approach courts by filing a writ. more

This seems to be day light robbery. Why not shut the coffeeshop forever and the owner goes behind the bars for 5 years? more

I do not think any differentiation is there between black coffee with milk or without and as mentioned by Rana and desai report it to the forum and keep your invoice more
