40% of antiobiotics prescribed are unnecessary

Can we atleast get Doctors on Localcircles to start a practice of not prescribing antibiotics unnecessarily.
Recent study at tertiary hospital in India: 58% of sampled patients were prescribed antimicrobials. More than 40% of these prescriptions were inappropriate.

It is indeed unfortunate that Doctors prescribe Antibiotics for diseases like Common cold, fever etc. Often the patients do not take full dose of medicine. Therefore the residual bacteria learns to fight and survive. Thus it becomes stronger and the same Antibiotic fails to control it. The situation has worsened to the extent that the scientists have predicted an end to the possibility find a stronger Antibiotic. In this scenario the sale of antibiotics should be regulated. The Government may impose restrictions similar to narcotics etc for Antibiotics sales. more
When you go to a doctor. Please say. No Antibiotics. No Pain killer. No Sleeping pills. more
Why to blame doctor for wrong unnecessary prescriptions. It is we who are to be blamed because we feel easy to go to doctor even for very minor problems and don’t want to spend own time and energy to understand the self body. Once you go to doctor the doctor have to prescribe something otherwise most of us believe as less knowledge of doctor more
