447 adverse events in 2 days
A total of 447 Adverse Events Following Immunisation (AEFI) have been reported in the last two days of the inoculation drive against Covid-19. Of them, three cases were serious in nature. more

Covaxin is made with the dead virus. Therefore the adverse reactions are supposed to be minimal. While Covishield / Astra Zeneca is made with the live virus vector. And maybe that's the reason why many European countries have had many negative experiences. more

Not a very big number percentage wise.Please compare it with similar data of vaccinations that we take as a child as part of the Universal Immunisation Program.It is worth becoming a headline only if it is significantly higher than the latter.English newspapers and english newsreaders are after capturing eyeballs.and they appeal to the educated people because of their language fluency rather than content. more

This is about 0.2% or 2 person in 1000 had a reaction. We should have comparable data for other vaccinations to judge the severity. As regards 'serious' cases, I think they were admitted to ICU. The important thing is whether these 3 cases were as a result of Vaccination and what was the complicating factors in these 3 individuals. Best is we leave all such analysis to ICMR and go with their recommendations, just as we are doing with all other medicines that one normally takes. more

There is nothing wrong at all about the adverse events on Vaccination.Luckily thee was no Anaphylactic shock that could have lead to death or very serios hospitalization. It is a protein that is being sent in to the Human body. There will be natural & cautious protest from the sytem. The percentage of reactions are 0.19 % only statistically. That doesnt mean that we as a populous state with abundant lives can expose them without guaranteeing such ones total treatment and care free. Also there is set guidelines to give test dose (a very small drop of the 0.5 ml of the vaccine diluted & given) to individuals before giving the main dose that they will not get anaphylactic shoc. ALL THIS CONTROVERSY COULD HAVE BEEN TOTALLY AVOIDED ONLY IF SOME OF OUR LEGISLATORS / LAW MAKERS HAD COME FORWARD TO TAKE IT. After all they were always in the forefront when it comes to Opening of big projects,cutting ribbons, best medical treatment,priority travel, canten subsidy, Bungallow peopns at Government expense. Wake up honourable sirs. The exact number is quoted in The Hindu also,the name I knew 75 years back as my dad used to hand over the back issueds to me to do what I want.
