5 states into lockdown

In April, we had less than 500 covid cases in India we were terrified of the virus, being extra careful of going out and who got entry into our homes and buildings. Today, we have 42 lakh cases and there is no fear.

5 States (UP tamil nadu, karnataka, maharashtra, AP) contribute 60% of total COVID19 cases, 62% of active cases and 70% of total fatality reported in India.

Why arent we placing these states in full month lockdown. Otherwise we will have 20M cases by Dec, much much higher than the 12 M number your circle survey was also projecting.

And we will not have enough hospital beds. Poor will suffer.

Attached details from govt issued just now. more

There is no need for further lock down, now everyone should cooperate the Govt. by following guidelines, initially complete lock down was executed with the intention that all should be informed about the seriousness of COVID, and strict execution will control the spread within 30 days but it was been opposed by few that create such seen, now it is difficult to implement, only way left to take care yourself by following Govt. Guidelines. more

Wish to put forth my observations: In most likeliness everyone during the span of last 6-8 months might have faced systems of Cold, Cough, Body-aches, Mild fever, Sore Throat etc. and most of us would have taken over the counter drugs to come out of it. India where the density of population in cities like Delhi, is more than 11,000 persons/ Square K.M and with vagaries of weather, where Storms, Rains, Heat, Sweat etc. and living conditions, where flies etc, play a havoc in transferring the Bacteria and Viruses, thus it would have been difficult that most of the people won't have developed Anti-bodies. Thus, in a worse case scenario around 90% people, if tested would come out positive, though they might not necessarily exhibit the symptoms. Thus, Locking down cities are not going to make much impact !! Needless to mention, effect of Lockdown on India's GDP and current poor state of Indian businesses this year, is a proof of it. more
One hears a lot about the hope that is being associated with vaccine for Coronavirus, as if the vaccine is going to work wonders. Let's not overlook that no vaccine was ever found for the earlier viruses that have been plaguing us human beings since the past 20 odd years, starting with SARS-1. Advisable to keep this "hope" under control for the time being. more
