51 microns polythene being used

See attached plastic bag picture which is being used commonly in Noida. Just 1micron above the 50 micron ban limit.

Shouldnt UP Govt ban all plastic bags?

This selective ban only causes confusion to all consumer, trader and even inspector. more

I am of the view that it should be immediately banned for polyethylene bags of any microns. Thanks more
Either we can stop the use of Plastic/ Polythene bags or make arrangements to re-use them. The former is almost impossible at this stage, so a lot of work has to be done to ensure their re-use. Already in India, Plastic is being used for preparing material for resurfacing roads. Why cannot this be speeded up? Many developed countries like Singapore are doing this. There is NO BAN on Plastic bags in Singapore, but all plastic waste is being used properly. We need to do the same. Road resurfacing material produced from Waste plastic is far better than normal and presently used Tar for road surfacing. more
Non-bio-degradable Plastic in any size, shape, color and thickness is bad for the environment,....air, water, soil, Marine -ecosystem , be it Human, animal, Vegetation etc. Plastic in our daily life in form of milk and other packaging in kitchen, in our cars, furnitures, equipments & appliances, computers, baggages, etc. are un-surmontable. Bio-degradable plastic is now invented and can we used , once economically feasible, in place of the current varieties. more
It is really surprising that even plastic bags upto 50 microns are being used even in the Capital of U.P. I think respective department need an Overhauling. more
The 51 micron bags are legal so what is the problem, why should they not be used. After all the thickness of 50 micron has been specified for some reason. Anything above that is okay. All plastic needs to be disposed off properly, thats all. reducing use of plastic is fine and should be followed up diligently and with reason.. more
