Dear Mr. Suresh Gupta, I am really excited about your keen interest in the post. Referring to your comment on honesty in the business, let me state that this is not the case at all. In fact no restaurant is honest. There were few points. Since this circle was for the resident of Faridabad, I have requested Faridabad residents to share the same. The restaurant in Faridabad charged 28.13% VAT as against applicable rate of 13.13% so thought Faridabad must be having bigger problems. Moreover I have requested all diners across the country to share the same using my other social media like facebook, twitter or other circle groups. However, I regret to say that not even a single person has shared with me the copy of the bill whereas 100% diners are being charged more than the applicable rates. As an example, service tax is not allowed to be charged on VAT. Compulsorily service charges are being charged irrespective of whether you get the service or not. Over and above, the tip is also being paid despite charging of service charge. High courts have stated that VAT is charged on 60% of the food value but in practice VAT is being charged on 100% value of the food bill. I had requested for copy of the bill from the members irrespective of whether one notices or not any irregularities in the business of restaurants. That will help me taking up the issue appropriately with the authorities. more

why only one restaurant is selected in faridabad and others have been left out. Do you think others are doing honest business or it is due to some personal matter. more
