Apart from vitamins, sugar and blood pressure medicines, antibiotics are also included in the list. 😢

North-East has been granted special tax free status to boost eco-friendly industries. Whoever it is seen that the officers posted there to implement the day to day work are blindly signing the documents for getting monitory benefits. Therefore, the goods manufactured are sub-standard and dangerous. The whole for north east policy of tax holidays is required to be reviewed and strictly implemented. Culprit and officers involved should be punished heavily. more

Mr. K. C. Rana's views are more acceptable as consumers either with prescription or not are the ultimate victim. This inferior quality medicine to be tested at the counter of chemist by picking medicines randomly. If quality inferor, seal the chemist shop for srlling and cancel manufacturing license of nanufacturer with heavy penalty. more

Its a very serious matter. Since all kinds of medicines are freely available in medical shops without any valid prescriptions, common people are mainly the consumers of such spurious/sub-standard drugs with high risk of their health/life. Our government should view the issue very seriously, ban all such spurious drugs immediately and initiate rigorous punitive action against the manufacturers as also the sellers of such drugs. more

To eradicate the menace of Spurious Drugs, it is easier to say but hard to achieve. We already have laws under Drugs & Cosmetic Act. where in provision of life imprisonment exit against the manufacturing and trading in Spurious Drugs. Unfortunately collection of evidence acceptable in the court of law against the manufacturing and/or sale of spurious drugs, is a long drawn process with multiple steps that are not difficult to manipulation. Success of any case in the court depends on integrity, honesty and efficiency of the investigating officer, a rare quality.
Taking samples from the shops is not enough to get an accused prosecuted unless test report of the sample in question was available on the spot. more
