there is another solution to tackle this problem that the survey has cleverly left out.. it finally shows that people still are ok with price hike but wants to control it somehow.. but there is no option provided that the Public schools should be made world class. that will automatically ease the burden and private schools will no longer be in demand..else demand - supply will push prices. more

Today teaching and schools/education institutions have become money spinning business. Definitely the fees has to be regulated. more

It is not a good sign if 53% parents want the regulation of fees by an external agency. It would have been in the fitness of the things if the school management had been able to convince the parents about the genuine need of hike of fees for furthering the studies of the latter's ward! There is something somewhere wrong in the conduct of all stakeholders i.e. the school management, parents, PTA, teachers, coordinating bodies if any to have not been able to arrive at a consensus and each side wishes to have what it believes is right. It's quite possible that the management wishes to maximize its revenue, the parents want to spend the least amount and the teachers wish to have a maximum hike in their compensation while lacking the ability to convince the other stakeholder nor being ready to listen to the others. more
