6 Months of Swachh Bharat - Poll Results

Dear all:

Below is the link to the results of the Swachh Bharat Community Poll.

http://tinyurl.com/SwachhBharat-6monthpoll

Thanks to close to 25,000 citizens in this circle who have voted. A few key takeaways are:

1) 63% of the citizens feel Swachh Bharat has had a positive impact on behaviour and attitude of School Children
2) 58% of the citizens polled have engaged in some sort of cleanliness drive with the launch of Swachh Bharat Mission
3) 84% of the citizens say that their local Civic Body is not engaged with Citizens for Swachh Bharat Mission
4) 49% of the citizens believe their city is cleaner than what it was before the launch of Swachh Bharat Mission.

While it is good to know 49% of you believe your city is somewhat cleaner post Swachh Bharat and see the positive impact on school children, the clear recommended action is to enable civic bodies and municipal staff so they engage effectively with the mission and the citizens.

We thank you for your active participation!

Only influential people are able to put pressure on Civic bodies to do work around their premises, generally Civic bodies are not working. No check on people who are involved with spreading the dirt in society. more
There is hardly any change . Colonies are dirty. Cleaning staff not clearing garbage / cleaning roads regularly. Fallen leaves which should be pitted are lying in mounds here and there. On Mahipalpur road garbage is lying thrown on a long stretch outside the govt boys school daily. Besides the filthy smell and pollution is anyone concerned about the health of school kids who breathe and see the filth daily? I will a post a pic. Is any one listening? more
Our Nagar Palika in Almora does not have the funds necessary to adhere to the Municipal Solid Waste Handling rules. So waste still litters the streets and continues to be dumped and burned on the Himalayan slopes! Unless money follows declarations not much can change. more
I am afraid the project could not get proper attention by the States & Local Bodies. The Union Govt. has to chalk out a program of suitable action. more
There is hardly any visible change in cleanliness standards of Delhi. It is as clean or dirty as it was prior to Swachh Bharat campaign mainly because of rampant corruption in municipal bodies entrusted with cleaning work in city n secondly haven't seen ant remarkable change in attitude of people spreading dirt in public areas. Just take a walk on Rajpath (India Gate) and see,it is considered to be a tourist attraction . more
