7 days to verity and update PAN online by SBI???

Can India be transformed with such banks which take 7 days to verify a PAN online for a Savings account? Especially when there are linkages all over the place - aadhaar linked to pan, passport linked to PAN.
This is the case with SBI. When opening the account about 10 years back, I had given the PAN number. But, our friends at the bank did not update it and I also did not check. About 3 days back, I wanted to open an RD, online. The system said that the PAN is not updated. So, please create a request for updating PAN. It is has been over 3 days now and the request is still not processed. When there is a link between Aaadhar and PAN and also PAN can be verified online, SBI technologists seem to be blissfully unaware of this. Looks like somebody in the home branch needs to manually verify it (work expands to fill time).
No wonder, the big bulls are given loans without scrutiny and they in turn default on the loan payments, more

Why blame SBI.It's RBI which passes stupid orders from time to time. When Adhar Card is linked why this KYC update after certain period.Even MF has awful requirement for KYC more
SBI is pain in the neck. Bank misplaces the documents submitted in support of KYC and then start harassing customers including Sr citizens. Another nationalised bank which keeps troubling is Indian Bank. I used to draw my pension from Allahabad bank which was an efficient bank. This was merged with Indian bank and trouble has started. This bank staff does not pick up phones. more
SBI is the biggest public sector bank and efforts must be made to improve its performance by Ministry of Finance more
SBI stands for SLOWER BANK OF India. so they are acting slow as per their status. why to Cry ? more
Let us co-operate the Bank and hope the work is completed at the earliest more
